Pixel Candles

For this tutorial you will need 

Paint Shop Pro

The Following Colour Chart 
Save and open in PSP.
Ok we are ready to start.

REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN 

We will be be making the Candles shown above. The outline below has been resized a lot so you can see it clearly. 
To make this easier I have numbered all pixels over 1.

Step 1: Candle Outline
Open a new image 150 x 150 transparent. 
Select the brush tool with the following settings.
Size: 1 - Hardness, Opacity and Density: 100 
Zoom in to about 800% - 1000% 
Set your foreground to colour 1 on the outline colour chart (#F6C476) and start drawing your outline.
I started with the main candles.
Change your colours as you go.
The candle wicks are colour 3 on your colour chart (#000000), the top line of the stand is colour 4 on your colour chart (#606060), the next line of the stand is colour 5 on your colour chart (#515151) and the bottom 2 rows are colour 6 on your colour chart (#404040).

Step 2: Fills
When your outline is complete, select your magic wand with the following settings and click inside the center candle. 
Flood fill this selection with colour 2 on your colour chart (#FBE8C8). 
Keep selected. 
Selections float, Effects 3D effects, Cutout with the following settings
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: -4
Opacity: 100
Blur: 8
Shadow colour: Use your candle outline.(#F6C476)
Make sure fill interior with colour is UNchecked. 
Deselect.

Step 3: Fills
Select your magic wand and click inside the left candle. 
Flood fill this selection with colour 2 on your colour chart (#FBE8C8). 
Keep selected. 
Selections float, Effects 3D effects, Cutout with the following settings
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: -4
Opacity: 100
Blur: 3
Shadow colour: Use your candle outline.(#F6C476)
Make sure fill interior with colour is UNchecked. 
Deselect.

Repeat for the right candle.

Merge all visible and save as a png.
