Ornaments
_____________________________________________

Step 1:
We are now going to make some Ornaments for our tree.
I have supplied a colour chart but other than colour 1 (#A57B00) which is the ornament hanger you are free to use any colours of your choice. Just make sure you have a dark colour for the outline and a lighter one for the fill.
I will show you how to make one and you can use different colours to make as many as you wish for your tree.
We will be be making the ornament shown above. The outline below has been resized a lot so you can see it clearly.
Open a new image 20 x 20 transparent.
Select the brush tool with the following settings.
Size: 1 - Hardness, Opacity and Density: 100
Zoom in to about 800% - 1000%
Set your foreground to colour 1 on the outline colour chart (#A57B00) and start at the top center of your canvas.
Draw the hanger.
Change your foreground to a dark colour (you can use one of the ones with an a behind it on the colour chart if you wish) and draw the Ornament outline.
Select your magic wand with the same settings we used for the tree and click inside the ornament.
Fill with a dark colour (you can use one of the ones with an b behind it on the colour chart if you wish).
Keep selected.
Selections float, Effects 3D effects, Cutout with the following settings
Vertical: 0
Horizontal: 0
Opacity: 70
Blur: 3
Shadow colour: Use your ornament outline.
Make sure fill interior with colour is UNchecked.
Deselect.

Step 2:
Make as many as you wish in as many different colours as you wish.
Copy and paste them as new layers on your Christmas Tree. You can use my tree as an example of where to place them.
If you want to give them a Drop Shadow, hide the tree layer and merge all visible. Duplicate the Ornament layer.
On the original ornament layer add the following Drop Shadow.
Vertical: 3
Horizontal: 3
Opacity: 57
Blur: 6
Colour: #246D34

Unhide the Tree layer and select your magic wand. On the tree layer click outside your tree (in the transparent area), activate the original ornament layer (the one you added the drop shadow to) and hit delete on your keyboard.
Deselect.

Merge all visible and save as a png.
